There are four shows in Europe that have great participation.

They are Dortmund, Sinsheim, Prague (Czech Republic) and Sandown (England).

Dortmund was started in 1979 and has grown, this years attendance was reported as 103,688.  Not bad for a five day shown. Dortmund draws from Northern Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, England and France.  It is really a commercial show as manufactures are not only there to show new wares but shops are there to sell.  These pictures show the aircraft building as there are seperate buildings for trains, ships, trucks and plastic models.

More on Dortmund:
Here are a view of the vendors stands at Dortmund.  This is the place to pick up the odds and ends plus the items that you have have on the "want list".  This is also the place to meet the manufactures, vendors and shop owners.  Mail order via the internet is big business in Europe.  (again pictures courtesy of Harm Siegers)

More stands at Dortmund with the models speaking for themselves.
