From The Editor
Hello again!
The flying season is upon us and it has been a mad rush to get my chores done
so I can squeeze in some weekend flying. I’m sure most of you can relate to
this dilemma. Most of the club issues were addressed in the last meeting. I
have included a copy of the minutes from that meeting and they are also posted
of the OVM website. Please take time to read through them. I would like to
welcome the new members this year, its good to see our club growing. The new
members are: Zarek Lewandowski (my son), Jack McGraw, and John Merchant. Some of these members would like some one
there when flying for instruction, if anyone would like to be put on the “call”
list so please let me know. Tim, Lucky and Tom V are currently on the call list
for instruction, these are not official positions, just people who want to do
it. Tim’s nephew, Shane, has made a 4 ft by 4 ft sign to be put at the entrance
of the field, a thank you goes out to him. Glenn and Tim have been working on
getting T-shirts, hats and jackets made up, I am eager to see the product of
their efforts. I’m sure they will be great. Phil has been working hard on the
field and parking area, both of which look great. He wants everyone to come out
as much as possible and enjoy it. He has also mentioned the need for a burn
barrel; if anyone can come up with one please bring it out. You might want to
take a trip out to the field to see if there is one there yet, just to avoid a
stock pile of barrels.

I have been struggling
to find the time to post many updates to the site but I recently posted a few
pictures. I had to use some of my personal webspace for this but I should be
able to bring the picture portion of the site back to where it was last year. I
will be working on posting some newer pictures soon. As always I will accept
and post pictures given to me or sent to me via email from any member as long
as they pertain to our club. I have added a link to display the current Fulton
weather (includes wind reading), and the scrolling marquee gives recent news
and issues with the club. If you haven’t visited the site in awhile, check it
out!

Notes
I would just like to suggest to
everyone that along with your aircraft and support equipment you should
consider bringing some other things out to the field. Top of my list is water,
then bug spray, then a first aid kit, and sunscreen. I fly electrics that run
on LiPos so I also bring a fire extinguisher.
