FREE FLIGHT RULES, GGG 2010 VALID MAAC OR AMA MEMBERSHIP CARD REQUIRED (INCLUDING FOR THE R/C FUN FLY)

All events except HL/CL Glider, Vic Smeed, and Mulvihill to start with 3, 2-minute qualifying flights, then increasing by 1 minute increments.

Builder of the Model rule applies to all free flight events except Cloud Tramp.

Contestants receive a plaque for the first event won or placed in, and ‘stickers’ to denote that event and any further events also won or placed in. Prizes (wine or maple syrup) will be awarded as follows:- 1st place, if two entrants 1st and 2nd, if three entrants 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, if four or more entrants

SAM, AMA, FAC and NFFS rules apply where applicable, subject to CD discretion and the following notes.

1. HL/CL Glider: AMA Rules. Fly Friday and/or Saturday and score the best 3 of 6 flights.

2. Bob Gordon Trophy/Classic Gas: Any engine, no moving surfaces except DT. Engine run: 7 sec. glow; 9 sec. diesel.

3. Cloud Tramp: Builder of Model Rule waived for this event and for Ladies Mass Launch.

4. Classic Wakefield: Any 4 or 8 oz. Wakefield built to the rules of its era; pre-1943. ROG required.

5. Unlimited Towline: Any size/weight model, straight tow only, no bunt and no moving surfaces except autorudder. Hi Start launch permitted; 50 metres max. (~164 feet) including no more than 15 metres (~50 feet) of rubber.

6. Diesel Duration: Engine run 12 sec. Three qualifying flights Friday and/or Saturday for a qualifying total of 250 sec. Qualifiers make an unlimited flight between 08:00 and 10:00 Sunday.

7. Mulvihill: Any rubber powered model of 300 sq.in. wing area or less. Make 3 qualifying flights of 2, 3 and 4 minutes, then increasing by minute increments. If a max is not achieved on a qualifying flight, subsequent qualifying flights may still be attempted.

8. P30: Winning models and motors may be weighed, at the sponsor's discretion.

9. 0.020 Replica/¼A Nostalgia: Engine runs: 0.020 Replica - 12 sec., ¼A Nostalgia - 9 sec.

 

10. All FAC Events will be flown to current FAC Rules.

11. The rules for the Vic Smeed event are:-
   a. Model must be a cabin type power model designed by Vic Smeed, (biplanes allowed, cabin can be interpreted as an    open cockpit, or two).
   b. Entrant may use two different models to make the necessary flights – as long as both comply with the rules.
   c. Model(s) may be scaled to suit any size engine.
   d. Glow or diesel may be used.
   e. Engine run by guesstimation ie; eyedropper type tank, etc., no timer cutoff allowed.
   f. Engine run "window" 20-40 seconds.(a run of under 20 secs is a non-official flight, same for over 40seconds).
   g. Score is determined by dividing the total flight time by the actual engine run time.
   h. D/T (fuse or timer) may be used, at the discretion of the contestant.
   i. Best of two flights is the score used.
   j. The two flights may be made on Fri. or Sat.(or one on Fri. and one Sat.)
   k. Prizes to 3rd, (based on SAM 86 entry # formula).

12. The rules for the ABC Ignition event are:-
   a. Any type of model (cabin or pylon).    
   b. Any engine displacement.
   c. Hand launch permitted.
   d. 16 second engine run, 2 minute max.
